Abstract
This paper investigates imperfect maintenance policies for deteriorating production systems such that the economic manufacturing quantity (EMQ) can be obtained. We consider the case that maintenance action is imperfect and may lead a production system to a worse condition. In this case, two commonly used maintenance strategies are proposed: equally spaced and equally cumulative-hazard. Under both maintenance strategies, optimal maintenance policies can be obtained by any search procedure. Numerical examples are also provided to evaluate the performance of the optimal policies.
