Abstract

AbstractIn the continuation of the study on the passivity of zinc in the alcaline solution with and without SiO2 the impedance of zinc/passive layer/electrolyte was measured. Measurements were per formed at the constant potential of + 500 mV s.c.e. and in the frequency range from 63 to 25 000 c/s. All results point to the presence of relaxation phenomena with a relatively narrow range of relaxation time. A possibility of the relaxation of adsorbed, resp. structurized, dipoles of water has been discussed, and the free enthalpy of activation for adsorption process has been calculated from experimental data.
