Abstract

An impedance matrix interpolation scheme based on the method of moments (MoM) is presented to analyze the wideband electromagnetic characteristic of the wire-surface objects. For the analysis of wire-surface objects, it can be easily implemented to define a uniform basis function instead of a multi-resolution (MR) basis. With this basis function, the wires and the wire-surface junctions can be replaced by the thin strips with no thickness and the surface-surface junctions, respectively. To solve the radiation problem more efficiently, impedance matrix interpolation is combined with the MoM. It is calculated at relatively large frequency intervals and the matrices at the intermediate frequencies are obtained. This interpolation technique based on the MoM offers a considerable computational saving in terms of execution time. Numerical examples are performed to demonstrate the validity.
