Abstract

The ac impedance for oxygen reduction at a Pt electrode has been calculated based on proposed mechanisms. Expressions for the faradaic impedance were developed leading to equivalent circuits. Oxygen reduction at Pt electrode in 6 M KOH was studied experimentally with cyclic voltammetry and ac impedance. The impedance spectroscopy for oxygen reduction at low and high current density regions show different characteristics. The proposed equivalent circuits are consistent with the experimental results.
