Abstract

chronic myocardial ischemia and heart failure remain the most common cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS). MetS is associated with a clustering of cardiovascular risk factors that greatly increase the risk of developing occlusive coronary artery disease.
