Abstract

In this paper, the impacts of wide-bandgap transistors on electronic and motor designs are studied. From magnetic and electric models, the high frequency parasitics for both electronics and motor are determinated. Then, high frequency circuit models taking into account of parasitics extractions are built to study the wide bandgap transistors commutations and their impacts on motor windings. Thanks to the developed model, a complete high frequency design of a high speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine with its associated Gallium Nitride inverter is described.
