Abstract

The fast development of RFID and connective technologies is progressively changing the management of business units by introducing new challenges and appealing opportunities. In particular, promoters of connective technologies underline the abilities of these technologies to support decision making and, specifically, to increase supply chain performance. However, despite its huge potential, technology deployment does not ensure success unless it comes along with a reengineering process and appropriate integration efforts and tools. Keeping this in mind, this paper evaluates how different degrees of technology deployment impact the performance of retail stores and their relations with the rest of the supply chain.
