Abstract

An active polymeric wound dressings where prepared using electrospinning technique by adding Iodine to the tertiary blend composed from (55:22.5:22.5) PVA, Collagen and Hyaluronic acid (HAc). Iodine was added by 0.1,0.2 and 03 wt%. Results showed that, Iodine additions causes significant changes in the solutions properties and there is no chemical reactions among the tertiary polymeric blend components, while the characteristics bands of Iodine appeared in the final textile. I2 additions affect textiles morphologies, where random nano fiber obtained, uneven porosity distribution, increment in the diameter, reduction the beads number and all roughness parameters increased. The thermal transitions were shifted to a higher temperatures upon I2 addition, which points to a higher thermal stability of the resulting nano fiber textiles. MTT results indicate that Human dermal fibroblast (HDF) cell line attached to the samples and there is no major cytotoxic secretion for all samples. For the anti-Candida activity, I2 addition enlarged the inhibition zone diameters.
