Abstract
The ERP systems which main characteristic is the integration, aim to guarantee that the work process of the organizations become more agile and reliable, thus eliminating parallel controls and mistakes, besides optimizing the tasks of several sectors on the companies. Few companies choose to develop internally their own system through utilization of own Information Technology (IT) team, because there are a great amount of ERP systems suppliers, with great know-how on the market. The main objective of this paper was to identify the impacts of ERP system implementation when the software is developed internally for IT team of the company, object of this study. It was carried out an applied research regarding the nature and exploratory regarding objectives. The technical procedures were bibliographical research and a case study in a big company of paper industrial sector, established in Campos Gerais Region, Parana State . The research had a qualitative focus. The data collect was carried out through direct observation and semi-structured interview. With the data collected it was possible identify the negative and positive aspects of the development, implementation and utilization processes of the ERP system in the company researched. The data collected allowed also verify that the option of develop its own software by IT team, generates several benefits to company due to be developed by employees with knowhow about the internal company processes. However, presents also, negative aspects and some difficulties to companies. Therefore is very important the deep study before implementation when companies have two options to acquire the ERP systems.
