Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the implementation of transit signal priority (TSP) at the traffic light system for articulated buses of Bus rapid transit (BRT) Midwestern Metropolitan Area. This impact was assessed through microscopic simulation models of vehicular traffic using the simulation software TransModeler. The results show a 7,7% reduction in travel time in the main hallway. These results demonstrate the feasibility of implementing TSP strategies for optimizing the operation of the BRT system.
