Abstract
Stark profiles of the low Lyman lines of hydrogenic ions are computed in the impact theory for density and temperature conditions of inertial confinement fusion. When the fine-structure effects are neglected, it is possible to test this approach by a comparison with the computer simulation results of Stamm et al (1984). Strong fine-structure effects are then analysed.
