Abstract
Objective: To assess if work environment had an impact on the performance of nurses and to determine the relationship between the work environment and their performance. Methodology: This descriptive analytical study was in the hospitals of the city of Nasiriyah, Iraq from May 15, 2022 to November 1, 2022. The non-probability (purposive) sample was used and 410 nurses working in the city center hospitals were included in the study. We used a questionnaire to collect data which was analyzed with SPSS 21. Results: The association between work environment hazards and nurse performance (continuation 1) showed a strong positive relationship (when the nurse was satisfied with her environment, there was an increase in her performance). Conclusion: There are factors in the nursing work such as the risks of the physical environment, psychosocial environment, chemical and biological environment that have a significant positive or negative effect on the performance of their work.
