The study aims to check impact of work engagement and innovative work behavior on organizational performance. It also aims to check the moderating role of perceived distributive fairness, and mediating role of innovative work behavior in these relationships. Data was collected from 208 employees of public sector organizations. Multiple regressions are using MODPROBE and PROCESS macros to verify the hypothesis. Results from the study indicated that work engagement has positive effect on innovative work behavior and organizational performance. Moreover, mediating effect of innovative work behavior and moderating role of perceived distributive fairness was also verified. Study was limited to public sector organizations only. Therefore, more research is needed to generalize the results in other contexts. Managers can gain competitive advantage through employee's innovative work behavior in cut throat competition.
