Abstract

Nursing is the assurance, advancement, and improvement of health and capacities, anticipation of disease and injury, help of recuperating, mitigation of enduring the analysis and treatment of human reaction, and support being taken care of by people, families, gatherings, networks, and populaces. Nursing is a scholarly calling based on a center group of information that mirrors its double segments of workmanship and science. Objectives-To evaluate the effectiveness of video assisted learning on knowledge regarding focused clinical health assessment and to find out the association between pre -test scores with demographic variables. Methods: Evaluative research approach was used. Experimental research design (one group Pre-test Posttest) - Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). Study subjects were 50 nurses selected through simple random technique. Results: Among 50 staff nurses, 15(30%) were between age group 21-25 years, while 37(74%) were females. whereas 25(50%) staff nurses who had completed B. B. Sc. Nursing and 22(44%) staff nurses were working in CCU, 47(94%) nurses had not received any previous training of focused health assessment. mean and standard deviation of knowledge score obtained before and after the administration of the video–assisted learning regarding focused clinical health assessment among staff nurses. Conclusion: Videos assisted teaching helps to remember the steps of focused clinical assessment yet may not take into consideration the feeling of touch expected to recognize the parts. There is no substitute for clinical demonstration; however, video-assisted teaching can be used as a supplement to the traditionally used bedside demonstration. The combination of instructional methods can be used to get a rich supply of learning opportunity.
