Abstract

Job content should provide job enlargement, job enrichment, job motivation and individual motivation through job orientation. The ultimate aim of any job design is to provide job satisfaction to an employee. Job satisfaction is an attitude. “It generates a positive affective orientation (or feeling) towards a job.” Levels of job satisfaction are indicators for job design and job modification. Hence motivational factors, stress levels and leader behaviour characteristics of a trade union as perceived by its members will give a better picture of the impact that the later has made towards the job content of the former. In this article, study has been made with respect to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, the Indian Telecom giant.
