Impact of time-delayed feedback on optical field dynamics in cavity with nonlinear metamaterial

Abstract

We studied temporal dynamics of optical field in a resonator with the nonlinear left-handed metamaterial of Kerr type and optical feedback with a time delay on the basis of the Lugiato-Lefever model. We constructed bifurcation diagrams showing the parametric regions of a stationary optical field and unstable periodic orbits formations with a different number of “steps” of the optical field. These unstable periodic orbits are similar to heterocliniccycles, which are being actively investigated in nonlinear dynamics.
