Abstract

Introduction: The Naval Health Researcher Center (NHRC) has conducted 145 Heat Tolerance Tests (HTTs) on Naval Special Warfare (NSW) personnel consisting of Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (Sea, Air Land) students, Special Warfare Combatant-Craft crewmen, SEALs, and non-specific NSW personnel. The purpose of this work is to provide insight into the reproducibility of the HTT and the importance of a plateauing Core Temperature (Tcore) during the test, along with the economic and operational readiness impact of the HTT.
