Abstract

Background: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has caused over 3.8 million deaths and more than 184 million reported cases across the world from December 2019 to June 2021, thus deeply changing healthcare services organization and workflow. Public primary care services, the main provider of preventive medicine and entry point in the Portuguese National Health System were reorganized due to the sudden need of follow-up of mild cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections which were being treated at home, delaying population-level screening.
