Abstract

Objective To investigate and analyze the relationship of the contract nurses' self-efficacy, job burnout and turnover intention. Methods A total of 450 contract nurses from 3 Third Level Class A hospital in Taian were investigated with General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Turnover Intention Questionnaire(TIQ). Results The score of self-efficacy of the nurses was in medium level, which was (2.54±0.49). They felt the severe job burnout(2.98±0.56)and the stronger turnover intention(2 89±0 73). The turnover intention of the contract nurses' were positively correlated with job burnout and negatively correlated with self-efficacy(P<0.01), moreover, the self-efficacy were negatively correlated with job burnout(P<0.01). Conclusions In order to maintain a stable nursing team, it is important for the hospital managers to adopt effective measures to relieve the contract nurses' job burnout and increase their self-efficacy.
