Abstract

The glamour of social networking is more popular among adolescents especially in developing and underdeveloped countries. The present study was conducted with (N=60: n1=30 male and n2=30 female social networking users to study the impact of uses of social networking on their physical and psychological wellbeing. The result of the study confirmed a positive relationship exists between uses of social networking with physical wellbeing and all subtest of Friedman wellbeing test for all participants even for both gender. The study also indicates there is significant difference exist between male and female social networking users in relation to their uses of social networking and happiness in Friedman wellbeing test. The results of the study indicate that more females are interested to use social networking sites compare to their male counterpart. The study also indicates that female social networking users are happier than to the male social networking users. Finally from this study it can be concluded that decent use of social networking following the ethical, legal and cyber guidelines can be helpful for physical and psychological wellbeing of users.
