Abstract

Social Media websites are continuing to grow in popularity. It is our premises Social Media is playing a vital role in students' lives particularly in their academic performance and in the field of their socialization. In fact, today's Social Media is running in the life of students. It continually detracts students from their studies as they feel comfort in wasting most of their time in Social Media. The leading task of this research is to find out the impact of Social Media on students' academic performance and leading trend of generation gap. In our research field purposive sampling technique was used to get to know the interest of students. This study was gender specified and 306 female students were participated that were used as sample tool in research methodology. The main findings of research is that Social Media has positively and continuous impact on students' academic performance and leading towards the generation gap. As students suffered from low grades and prefer to waste their study hours in browsing Social Media websites. Contrary Social Media is leading a source of income by the concept of online earning. Unfortunately, Social Media is not only an electronic connection it also has become an addiction which is leading to a parent's student's gap. Students feel easy to share their feelings on Social Media rather than share it with their elders.
