Abstract

(Abstracted from Lancet Oncol 2019;20:394–440) Of the estimated 530,000 cervical cancer cases diagnosed globally in 2012, 85% occurred in less developed regions. Both cervical screening and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage are much lower in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs), compared with high-income countries.
