Abstract

Background: The physical inactivity among the school children is prevalent that it plays an important reason for childhood obesity. The stress is more on academic achievements among school students. Aims and Objectives: This study aims to find out the impact of physical activity on the academic performance of school students in the age group of 10–15 years. Materials and Methods: Physical activity was assessed using physical activity questionnaire. Academic performance was assessed based on the marks obtained in the school examination. Students in the age group of 10–15 years were included in the study. Results: About 99.5% children had low physical activity. Only 0.5% of the children had high physical activity. The average marks obtained by the students were above 60%. Conclusion: In this study, there is no relationship between the academic performance of the children and their physical activity.
