Abstract

Purpose: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disease frequently perceived as a disease of the elderly and an inevitable result of aging. Consequently, epidemiological and clinical studies of OA are often restricted to older adults and therefore provide a limited view of OA in the broader population. The purpose of the current study was to describe OA across a wide age range including younger adult age groups.
