Abstract

This study is going to examine how organizational culture influences hotel employees’ organizational commitment and how teamwork is correlated with organizational culture and organizational commitment through positive analysis and provide related implications. The research lasted for about a month from October 20 till November 21, 2016. Total 300 questionnaire sheets were distributed, 20 sheets to each of the 15 hotels, and 261 sheets were finally collected. Except for 17 unreliably answered sheets, 244 sheets were used for positive analysis. As an analysis method, SPSS Ver. 21.0 was utilized. According to the results of exploratory factor analysis, organizational culture consisted of 3 factors: ‘relational culture’, ‘innovation culture’, and ‘rational culture’. Organizational commitment has a single factor, and teamwork is composed of 3 factors, ‘trust’, ‘problem solving’, and ‘communication’. Next the factors of organizational culture, relational culture, innovation culture, and rational culture, exerted effects on organizational commitment. Finally, on the relationship between rational culture, one of the factors of organizational culture, and organizational commitment, trust, one of the factors of teamwork, indicated moderating effects. Also, on the relationship between relational culture, one of the factors of organizational culture, and organizational commitment and between innovation culture and organizational commitment, problem solving, one of the factors of teamwork, showed moderating effects. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that it will be needed to make plans to improve trust among organizational members in order to create organizational culture that is suitable for the organization and enhance their organizational commitment.
