Abstract

The employment of optoelectronic nonregenerative wavelength converters in all-optical networks is investigated. The effects of chirping/dispersion-induced distortion accumulation, and of converter noise factors on the transmission performance are analyzed through a semi-analytical model of the network. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
