Abstract

Introduction: Patients undergoing cardiac bridge to transplantation (BTT) with HeartMate II (HMII) implantation can be stratified according to INTERMACS score, Right Ventricular Failure Risk Score (RVFRS), and composite pre-operative mortality risk scores, which allow improved patient selection for Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation and possible prediction of patient survival postoperatively. Hypothesis: High risk INTERMACS scores, RVFRS, and composite preoperative mortality risk scores may confer lower survival in our patient population implanted with HM II LVAD as BTT.
