Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Studies have shown that a high protein diet affects both mammalian embryonic and fetal development resulting in reduced fecundity. With an increase in the popularity of high protein diets in many western countries further investigation into the impact during oogenesis is warranted. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of a high protein diet on the transcriptome of the mature MII mouse oocyte.
