Abstract

This study attempts to explore the significant cope up strategies determined by PSPCL employees to reduce job stress and the impact of the gender and marital status on it. A questionnaire of 45 variables used to find out the aspect of coping strategies amongst employees. A sample of 621 employees employed in the conceptual framework. Using exploratory factor analysis (EFA), some coping strategies found from analysis. Maintaining home and work relationships and taking the mind off from stress creating activities were found as the most helping coping strategies of job stress. To determine the impact of gender and marital status on these coping strategies, one way ANOVA performed. The results indicated that the female employees impacted more on coping strategies than the male employees. The mean difference is significant in positivity, addiction, physical activities, and entertainment. In the case of marital status, un-married employees have more impact on coping strategies than married employees. In factors like addiction and action plans mean difference is significant. These outcomes can contribute to organisations as well as to the employees for their improvement and development.
