Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of effectiveness of human resources management in the Libyan hotel sector through the following dimensions (planning, job analysis, selection, wages, training, evaluation, maintain of employees). The study also aimed to demonstrate the level of organizational commitment (emotional, normative, continuous) in staff of study hotels. Also the study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between HRM and organizational commitment. To achieve these objectives, the study followed the descriptive analytical method, where the researcher developed a questionnaire based on some previous studies and to test its validity and reliability. The study population was represented in all employees of the various administrative levels in the hotels working in the region of Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar totaling (309) workers. In order to determine the size of the sample. It has been reliant on the table of Krejcie & Morgan 1970. The size of the sample was determined by (175) workers. After the questionnaire was distributed, (127) questionnaires were retrieved for valid statistical analysis. In order to analyze the study data, the statistical program (SPSS) was used. The results of the study were summarized as follows: The study revealed weak level of HRM practices in the hotels of the study and revealed the weak level of organizational commitment among the employees of these hotels. The results showed statistically significant relationship to the effectiveness of HRM practices at a level of significance less than (05%). The study also found that the existence of a direct relationship to the effectiveness of HRM on organizational commitment. finally the study concluded that there is a correlation between the variables of the study at the level of significance (0.134).
