Abstract

Rising demand for energy has increased the importance of reliable access to clean and sustainable energy sources. A very small amount of total electricity generation comes from renewable sources and the Iranian energy system is still completely dependent on fossil power plants. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of government investment in the Constructing of residential or residential solar power plants (RSPPs) on the sustainability of the energy system. In this research, using the dynamic system method, the effect of government investment in the Constructing of residential solar power plants on system behavior and various dimensions of energy system stability has been investigated. The results show that government investment in this sector does not change much in government spending on electricity generation, but government participation creates synergy and encourages people to invest in RSPPs. It will also increase the sustainability of the energy system in environmental, technical and social dimensions, but will not have much impact on the energy system in the economic dimension. Overall, it can be concluded that government investment in RSPPs is appropriate and helps to make the energy system more sustainable.
