Abstract

The COVID-19 is having an unprecedented impact in the commercial and trade sphere globally. Businesses of all sizes are finding it difficult to operate efficiently and many struggle to meet contractual obligations. Agency is a ubiquitous concept in trade and commerce. The sudden implosion of commercial activities has invariably affected agency relationships. This publication analyses the key ripple effects of COVID-19 on agency relationships and offer legal options for mitigating its downside effects. In addition, this paper proffers blueprints for future agency-related agreements to prepare for unforeseen contingencies.
