Abstract

In this paper we develop an emission mitigation model for the system consisting of both thermal generators and wind turbines. The wind power is a random variable and is assumed to follow the beta distributions. In this model, the probability of wind power is included in the constraint set. This approach may avoid the probabilistic infeasibility caused by improperly using the average of random variables. Then the impact of wind power with different parameters on emission mitigation dispatch is investigated. Results of numerical simulations for a generic system are presented.
