Abstract
The article presents modern points of view on the assessment of сognitive functions of the children and adolescents with epilepsy who take antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). The authors compare various AEDs which are used in modern clinical practice in Russia and abroad, their impact on cognitive functions, discuss the psychometric tools which are used in Russia to assess the dynamics of cognitive functions in this group of patients.

Изложены современные взгляды на проблему оценки динамики когнитивных функций у детей и подростков с эпилепсией, находящихся на терапии противоэпилептическими средствами. Обсуждается вопрос о психометрическом инструментарии, который применяется в России для оценки динамики когнитивных функций у этой группы пациентов. The article presents modern points of view on the assessment of сognitive functions of the children and adolescents with epilepsy who take antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). Сложность изучения влияния противоэпилептических средств на когнитивные функции детей заключается в том, что: 1) сами эти функции находятся в процессе естественного развития, в связи с чем сложно отделить эффект препарата от воздействия самой эпилепсии и возрастных особенностей формирования когнитивных функций; 2) данные по группе пациентов могут не совпадать с индивидуальными данными; 3) в существующих исследованиях недостаточно четко прослеживается связь между дозами принимаемых препаратов и когнитивным снижением.
