Abstract

Electric vehicles are considered as an alternative transport medium due to their eco-friendly behavior and its penetration level is increased in the market depending on the technology used in the vehicles. This work is formulated to present the impact of bi-directional solar electric vehicle (SEV) in a competitive power market under congested transmission environment considering suppliers profit maximization. Based on the highest negative bus sensitivity factor (BSF), initially SEV charging station optimally placed in the system. After optimally placed the SEV, market clearing power problem is solved to calculate market clearing price (MCP) and market clearing volume (MCV). Finally, to mitigate transmission congestion and to maximize supplier’s profit, suppliers/generators are rescheduled by using grey wolf optimizer (GWO) algorithm. The proposed work in deregulated electricity market is analyzed and validated with modified IEEE 30 bus system. To verify the proposed approach, same problem is also solved with artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm.
