Abstract

ABSTRACT Insulin in urine can be measured accurately after special precautions which include dialysis of urine samples and the addition of albumin. The accuracy and dependability of the procedures used have been confirmed in experiments where the results from two different immunological techniques have been compared and in dilution and recovery experiments. It has also been demonstrated that urinary insulin clearance is very constant over the wide range of physiologically attainable plasma insulin concentrations and urinary flows.
