Abstract

A radioimmunoassay has been established to determine the reactive antigen related to human fibrinogen CNBr peptide F-CB3 in human serum. The amount of antigen found in healthy subjects was in the range of 1 to 10 pmoles per milliliter. A 10 to 30 fold increase in antigen level could be demonstrated in a group of patients with various haemorrhagic disorders and in patients having undergone cesarean section. Plasma levels of fibrinogen and of soluble fibrin monomer complexes were also increased in these patients.
