Abstract

By means of rabbit immune sera, an antigenic component characteristic for burned guinea pig skin was demonstrated by double diffusion gel precipitation tests. This antigen could not be detected in normal skin extract or in skin burned after its removal. Evidence was presented that the antigen characteristc for the burned skin is identical with or closely related to a normal component of guinea pig plasma, presumably fibrinogen.
