Abstract
RATIONALE: Sting-allergic patients have only 50% chance of systemic reaction (SR) to any subsequent sting. No reliable predictor of reaction has been identified in other studies. We have reported that reactions correlate with the severity of the clinical history and the magnitude of venom skin tests (VSTs). Our aim was to determine whether sting challenge (SC) outcome is related to baseline measures of atopy and basophil responsiveness.
