Abstract
A two year old female guinea fowl was presented for post mortem examination in the Department of Veterinary Pathology, Tirupati. Grossly, the bird revealed distended abdomen with straw coloured fluid filled in the entire abdominal cavity. Large greyish-white, multinodular growths with few cystic areas were seen arising from the ovary. The cytological examination revealed eosinophilic, polyhedral cells with prominent nucleoli along with infiltration of pleomorphic lymphoblasts and lymphocytes. Histopathologically, the irregular accumulation of polyhedral cells forming the tubular and rosette structures was found. Based on histopathological features, the tumour was diagnosed as granulosa cell tumourwhich was further confirmed by positive immunostaining for alpha inhibin marker.
