Abstract

Low levels, or absence of immunoglobulins, were recorded in 124 out of 239 serum samples from farms where calves were being removed from their dams at birth and fed at next milking. In a concurrently run survey carried out on slaughterhouse calves low levels of immunoglobulins were found in 11 out of 222 samples.
