Abstract

Adult rabbits of 3 different strains were immunized by an intravenous injection of 7 mg BSA, followed 18 days later by a booster injection of 7 mg BSA and endotoxin. ‘Gris’ rabbits responded the best (86% responders) and ‘fauve de Bourgogne’ the worst (25%), whereas ‘albinos’ were intermediate between the other 2 strains (48%). After 100 mg of BSA, the poor response of ‘fauve de Bourgogne’ was slightly increased. These animals responded also poorly to HSA.
