Abstract

In sparse mobile ad hoc networks, to assure the packet delivery ratio and to trim down the transmission delay is the challenging tasks while routing protocols are designed. Routing protocols for the sparse networks based on the epidemic theory had shown the improved performance in the aspect of getting better transmission successful rate and reducing the delay. In epidemic routing, messages are distributed to all the nodes whenever a node comes in contact with the other node. This leads to flooding in the network. To improve the network performance with limited utilization of the network resources is the aim of this paper. For this, we used Immunized SIR model for the design of the routing protocol.
