Abstract

Rubella HI antibodies were observed in 54 of 56 susceptible young adult females vaccinated with the Cendehill strain of rubella vaccine. Twenty-nine of 56 (51.8 per cent) vaccinated reported no side effects. Arthralgia occurred in 5 of the 56 (8.9 per cent). Arthritis was not observed. Adenopathy was the most frequently observed side effect (23.2 per cent). There was no correlation between symptomatology and the degree of antibody response.
