Abstract

Background and Aims: Atherosclerosis is critically fueled by inflammatory processes including pattern recognition receptor-related signaling. Here we generated Nod1/Nod2 double knockout mice (Nod-DKO) on a LDL receptor knockout background that were compared with matched controls and analyzed regarding experimental atherosclerosis, lipid metabolism and gut microbiota.
