Abstract

Trafficking in woman is the gravest form of abuse and exploitation of human beings. Thousands of an Indians are forced or lead of slavery. They survive in brothels, factories, dance bars, farms, and even in homes of well of Indians with no control over their bodies and lives. Woman is essential constituent of the society. Present paper undertaken a task of evaluating the social status of woman in India. The bookish evidences of her ideal icon contradict with reality existed in condition of woman. In book we always see her as deity. Like Durga, Laxmi, kali, but these are the mythological concepts and in reality she treated as animal. On this account no one denies that, she is nothing but the like other animal for people to use. The Constitution of India had laid foundation for different social order based on liberty, justice, equality and fraternity and established platform for creating a social order when both men and women were guaranteed to get equal treatment, irrespective of their sex. Therefore, total and pervasive upliftment of society is prerequisite for comprehensive development. However, comprehensive development of society is unable without development of those marginalized section which are suppressed, oppressed and depressed i.e. woman.
