Abstract
The immobilization of salts from NPPs stillage residues in natural mineral-based ceramic matrices was studied. The clinoptilolite-montmorillonite matrices containing approx. 10 wt % of stillage residues salts were shown to have quite low values of water absorption and effective porosity (0.1 and 1.0% respectively). Ceramic samples were characterized by high chemical stability evaluated by the leaching rate and leaching efficiency for sodium ions and radionuclides.
