Abstract

The topic of immigration and, more generally, of the encounter/clash with foreigners, is certainly not new in European history. Nonetheless, today’s migratory flows see the Mediterranean and Europe at a crossroads. The first, the Mediterranean, from mare nostrum, has been transformed into a sea in which hundreds of people go to die.
