Abstract

Diabetes has been shown to be associated with increased likelihood of reintervention, major amputation, stenosis and wound healing complications in patients undergoing lower extremity revascularization. The effect of immediate postoperative hyperglycemia on these outcomes is less clear. We sought to examine this effect in open lower extremity bypass outcomes, namely, risk of amputation, duration of primary patency, and overall mortality.
