Abstract
The idea of travel and tale from images are the essence of the landscape; there would be no scenery without “a man looking at it”. The award for landscape from the European Council organized by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism in Italy following an address by the European Landscape Convention, provides an important contribution for the knowledge of Italian landscape and is an experience that is possible to think of as a trip in Italy. “The landscape of Paduli” is the Italian candidate for the fourth edition of the prize; developed by Urban Open Laboratory (LUA in Italian), Lecce. It has been chosen for its strategy and for the ability to involve public administrations. It is a starting point to update the map of Italian landscapes that has promoted and activated the social and cultural potential of the landscape in a sustainable way, in accordance with the functional principles of the European Convention, safeguarding the relationship between territory, landscape and democracy.
